I finally added an old gear motor and vfd to get the speeds I wanted. It is perfect now. These little mills are money makers for smaller items like I manufacture. In December, 2011 I ran across an ad on Craigslist for an old benchtop horizontal mill in Derby, Kansas. Over the holidays, I picked it up and brought it back to Iowa. Made by the Benchmaster company back in the 1940's and 1950's, it turned out to be an MH-2 model with the overarm.

I've got a nice vertical knee mill so I decided to list this one on eBay. Don't really have the room in my shop for it. Wish I did. It's a nice little mill. Right now I have some tractor front axles to repair. Don't think that machine would handle it. Have several pics of it on eBay the way it looks after the restoration process was complete.
